Kidepo Valley National Park, nestled in Uganda’s remote northeast along the borders with South Sudan and Kenya, spans about 1,442 km² of dramatic savanna valleys framed by rugged mountains.
This pristine wilderness boasts over 77 mammal species, including elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and Uganda’s only wild ostriches, as well as rare semi-arid specialists like bat-eared foxes, lesser kudu, and oryx.
Birdwatchers will delight in nearly 480 bird species, from ostriches and secretary birds to Verreaux’s eagle and Abyssinian roller, many of which are unique to this region.
The Narus Valley, a reliable dry-season water source, attracts huge herds of buffalo (10,000–15,000 strong), elephants, giraffes, zebras, and tree-climbing lions.
Beyond its wildlife, Kidepo offers rich cultural insights with visits to the pastoral Karamojong and the elusive Ik people.
Ideal for adventurous, off-the-grid safaris, the park also offers guided game drives, nature walks, birding, hiking, and cultural tours in a setting largely untouched by mass tourism.
We can make this destination part of your dream trip.
